Amarican made LED's?
I found one company that makes LED's in the US, Bridgelux and was wondering if anyone else knows of any, I'm eying up one of these seeing as how they seem to be at a reasonable price (two years ago I bought a 3 watt bulb like that for $35, standard price for it was $45 at the time) and it works great, I use it as a reading light, reflex off my ceiling and lights the whole room well enough that I can read in bed.
I like the idea of not buying stuff like this from China, seeing as how they didn't seem to keen on the idea of reducing global warming and mostly just want to sell us stuff and don't seem to care what the impact will be. |
Hi Ryland,
Not sure where the actual manufacturing takes place, but there is an LED company called CREE based in Santa Barbara. Here's a link to their product page. Cree LED Lighting : LED Lighting Fixture Products Options Accessories JJ |
I thought that Cree was making LED's in China, but it does appear that they are expanding their US factories. but they are not clear as to how many are made in the US, just that they are making some of them in the US.
