Another Civic
Hey folks, just bought my first car based on mpg's. It's just a normal 1995 Civic DX but I wanted to start a thread to keep track of the benefits I attain from future modifications. I'm going to run it as is for a couple tanks and then start with some basic and cheap mods. Lots of great info here.

Excellent - welcome to ecomodder!!
Looks like a good base to work with. 1.5 liter engine and a 5-speed. I'm pretty sure the DX has somewhat taller gearing than most of the other Civics, too. DX's came without a tach. Many of them have had a tach swapped in by now. It's pretty easy to swap one in from another Civic of same vintage. If you want, I'll post the link for a how-to. Good luck with the car!! |
Yeah I'm looking for ward to seeing results out of this car. The good thing about it is it was owned by a mechanic who did not modify it in any way. It was hard finding one that hadn't been turned into some kind of import tuner and ragged out, but this car is totally stock.
A tach is definitely going to be a necessity. I would like to see the link youre talking about. |
I recommend getting a user ID and pwd for this Honda site.
They have a sub-forum for each generation of the various Honda cars. Quite informative, though mostly they're into performance. Tach and gauge swaps: ://DIY • 92-95 Civic Cluster Swap - from NO tach to TACH (retaining OEM miles) - Honda-Tech Site FAQ for many projects: FAQs - Frequently Asked (Tech) Questions - Honda-Tech |
Thanks for the info, I will be sure and check it out. I'm new to Honda's so that will help out alot.
