Another one

Hello! My names Ryan, lurked here on and off for the past year or so.

I'll add my 2 cents here and there...

I own a 2009 Pontiac Vibe and a 1979 Honda CM185T Twinstar!

Why the standard cab? And DRW? That's a farm truck. Not much for air conditioned space or ride comfort. That said, the DEF trucks are better than since 2009 or so on mpg.

MPG posts on oil burners are: Big Dave, Diesel Dave, mine, SkyKing, and RDefayette.

Use Fuelly or paper to track mpg. It's the annual average that counts. Percentage improvements to that average is the game.

There was a deal to be had, and I wanted back into a stick shift vehicle. There's generally only me in the vehicle... In the years I owned the Vibe and Silverado, I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I've had people in the back seats of each... And yes, it has a/c!

The Silverado was the only automatic I've ever owned... And hopefully, the last.

Been on Fuelly for years.

It's still somewhat surprising to me that GM doesn't offer any manual transmission to the USDM Silverado anymore while it's still available for some versions of the Mexican Silverado.

You know, things change through the years. Out with the diesel short cab/longbox, in with the gasser crewcab/shortbox. New bike’s 95% different than the last.

What were the reasons leading you to choose a gasser this time? BTW is your current truck automatic? AFAIK nowadays only the Mexican RAM 4000 with the single cab and 2WD has a manual transmission.
