Another sweet calfee bamboo bike
Just thought I'd post for fun:

It never made much sense to me to pay $2600 for a high-end hardtail MTB frame that was made from bamboo. |
But the amount of steel in a bike frame is so little that a bike can be make rather cheaply, I've thought about making a bamboo bike my self, but the joints of it are the hardest part to make, using catgut, kevlar, or carbonfiber is what I've often seen.
I've seen a number of wood bikes, and wood wheels used to be really commen, they are not as light, but because the frame members are solid it makes for a stronger joint. |
