I got my scangauge by selling more stuff from craiglist and working OT. I think I will save enough money to pay the bill at the end of month.. Hopefully, SG will save me more than $15 on gas this month.

From my observation, changing from 10W30 to 5W30 feels the difference. Some people recommend using 0W30 synthetic oil, but usually won't feel the difference on mpg. The benefit is changing every 10K miles rather than 5K miles.

Is the oil too thin in the summer heat to lubricate the engine properly? I'm just wondering if it's worth the switch.

5W30 on my car runs good. You may buy 3 quarts and try it. Mine is Castrol GTX, not synthetic oil. If your car complain with noise, switch back to 10W30.

Wasn't the xB designed for 5w30 in the first place?

I'm not sure! I guess I should switch.

Base on the forum:

Toyota recommends 5W30. I didn't know that until now. I may go to 0W30 if I use synthetic oil. I know some people even go to 0W20, but I won't. It won't save gas, but spend more on oil change and maynot good for engine.

Nice. I think that on the xB, really well done skirts would look good, aero benefit aside. Besides, with the narrow rear track, it would be pretty easy to make skirts that actually follow the contours of the body.

For what it's worth, if anyone figures out how to mount skirts halfway securely without drilling holes in metal, I'd like to know. I'm willing to drill into my fiberglass lip kit, but not the unibody so much.

I would like to have wheel skirts, but my rims look too good.

I drove to D.C. the other day going 60mph on the highway for about 60 miles straight. The traffic in the city and unfamiliar roads hurt I would think (I got lost!), but I'm at 418 miles and just a smidgen above the last mark for this tank, so I figure I have another gallon at least to go. I should be above 40 mpg like I was.

Edit: best tank so far! Duct taped upper grille too.
