Anyone know where I can get an auto Civic vx trans?

I have the p07 901 auto ecu, I have all the parts, just need a trans, or do you think any auto ecu will do? I do have an EX trans, but I'm not sure if the vx auto had higher gearing for fuel econ. Thanks in advance.

I don't think there was an auto VX.

yeah there were, just not here. I seen a couple set ups without ecu for sale, and one with. I got lucky and I have an auto vx ecu jdm, p07-901. Just trying to dig up any info on the trans, see if anyone knows if an ex trans would shift out of park with that ecu. There is a thread which asks about the same thing as I am over at gassavers. The one of the posts speaks on a z1 being bolted with a b7 auto tranny but having no luck shifting out of park with the euro p84 ecu which is an auto ecu for z1. I would love to hear insight. I have all I need, but would like to build on a budget, get a vx engine cheap, clean it up service it and bolt up an auto tranny. The other set ups are just expensive even without ecu.

VX never had an auto transmission.

Federal and California emission versions but only manuals.

Your right, not in the USA. Check the link. 1995 Honda Civic ETi automatic specs, performance and photo (up to middle 1995 for Japan )

That is not a Civic VX tho, that civic has the D15B engine, not the D15Z1, the D15B engine has a 3 stage Vtec engine instead of the VX's 2 stage.
What you are looking at is a civic hatch back with a Vtec-E, but it's not a civic VX and the engine it connects to is closer to the 1.5L Vtec that was used in a JDM civic that was closer to being an SI then a VX so the automatic you are looking for is most likely not going to be what you really want.
Maybe an automatic out of a Civic HX??? sure they are expensive and break down frequently...

The block is stamped d15b in foreign markets but as you can see below its the same engine. People do confuse it with the d15b which is essentially the d16z6 here in the usa. Here is one for sale D15B SOHC VTEC-E Engine & Automatic Transmission 92-95 - Engine & Transmission - Honda & Acura now the transmission code for it is S4PA and the ECU for that set up is the p84-901. I do have the p07-901 from japan and I am wondering if my ecu can run that transmission properly as I believe it to be an auto ecu from japan. Or can I just bolt up my z6 transmission to it....just looking for some thoughts on this build.

I just tried the ecu p07-901 in an auto d15b7 to see if it shifts, out of park, no, other gears are fine except after a while the engine would get a real bad idle. So it seems you do need the corresponding ecu for transmission, I think the bad idle is due to the ecu looking for an entirely different engine. If the park feature would be the only problem then I would not care, but it can be a real expensive experiment (for me anyways) to find out. Any thoughts?
