Paul,it is interesting.Do you know if dragonwagon is being raced in HPV competition?I had an opportunity to volunteer as a crew member at Battle Mountain,Nevada's HPV competition in 2005.I got to "catch" Sam Whittingham,as he came in, in the "Varna" race recumbent. At the time, that was the fastest bike on Earth. Was wondering if things had changed. It's a bit other-worldly when you see these things hurtling down the highway at automotive speeds! Thanks for the post!

Things have changed just a bit. Sam is still the fastest in his Varna. He set a new record this fall at 82+mph. One night was perfect trial weather and there were several teams that set. Sorry can't find the exact decimal point righ now.

The DragonWagon is going to be raced in this year's ASME HPV competition, which is going to be hosted in Philadelphia. Here's a link if you want to know more:

Events - Competitions - Human Powered Vehicle

We competed last year in Madison, WI as well. This was our first year and the vehicle had just been completed, so we didn't fare so well. With and extra year of development under our belts, we hope to do a lot better this year!

Well, good luck this year, canzar.
