Do you have a shed or something too keep it covered?
It's in the carport (the Superbeetle is under a corrugated metal canopy and the XFi is out in the weather).

No pic; it looks like an Easter egg in a city dump.

I've got several dozen old cell phones, but I know your aversion to them.

Still own the first waterproof consumer camera, though it should go in the trash. My friend gave me a Pentax DSLR that I have no use for since I'm in the Canon ecosystem. Some old tablets laying around...

Several dozen is a lot of old cell phones. I got a $60 Tracphone, but I didn't like it and it's back in the box.

My first digital camera was a Casio QV-200 (1997). It's gone, but I have a nonfunctional example I picked up at Nextstep for the nostalgia value. Casio followed Apple to market, it was the first time I got a non-Apple alternative.

My collection includes a Newton, Mac TV, probably four or five Apple laptops of mid-1990s vintage -- all used, through Nextstep on their last leg, now defunct. The last working computer I have from Nextstep is a 2007 20" iMac. I got it for $75 about ten years ago. It's got a subwoofer speaker system for music and I use it to check USB drives I don't want to put in a world-facing machine. Today their iMacs are all $300-400.

The FUV body panels are fixed with zinc-plated shoulder bolts. I can't not see them. I was thinking of replacing most of them with black button-head Allen bolts, but more likely I'll just make a mask with a hole the right size and spray them all out with Black Plastidip.

What about the wheels? Solid black for the theme you advocate? I like Motor Oil Plastidip, it's a dark gray/brown.

A digital camera in '97 cost an arm, leg, and a few ribs. I recall being in middle school when they spent $3,000 on a 640x480 camera that saved to a floppy disk.

My first digital was Olympus CAMEDIA C-2000 2.1MP 3x zoom that I got a screaming deal for at $450.

My 2nd camera was a Casio Exilim waterproof camera. My prank was going to dinner with friends, handing my new camera to a friend, and accidentally dropping it into my water.

... a couple Sony Cyber-shot cameras

3rd digital was a Cannon T1i.

4th and current is a Cannon 80D.

Next will probably be mirrorless (I hate when things are described by what they aren't).

Since I saw the two roof racks, I've been thinking. The windshield and roof panel are fastened with through-bolts so attaching them is trivial. The VW world is full of roof racks. Here's an interesting example I saw at the Bug Run.

Those side rials might fold down to reduce frontal area. I've always like this kind:

Thanks. The XFi is hovering above empty, and I already resent the $25 it will take to fill it. A 20-80% charge for the FUV is about 1% on the electric bill which is mostly heat and light.

I took the signage off the front, but left the QI-0 to denote it's the zeroth FUV ever. Those zinc plate shoulder bolts holding the chassis together are going to get black Plastidip. I can't not see them.

Needs front skirts, or rear skirts, or both?

Gun 'blueing' is probably a better bet than Plastidip that wont tolerate being refastened after well.

Other option is a bolt head size round punch:
Punch holes in stickers; align around bolt head; newspaper and masking tape to 'mask off' the rest of the vehicle and spray (matt) black on the already fastened bolt heads.

Needs doors
or pgfpro's panel beater, thick cellophane (sticks) plastic stuff, at the very least, for long/ger trips.

Shorter trips: remove the cargo box behind the rear passenger's head so that back bit isn't acting like a parachute. Lighter too.

Thanks, but those bolts will never be removed and refastened as the bluing would require. Thick Plastidip (3 or 5 coats) will act like a cap instead of a coating.

Don't want doors, I like the ingress/egress. Grab a handle bar, throw the good leg over, sit down and drag the bum leg in. Done. (then the seat belt take 24 seconds -- the XFi/s belt open and closes with the door)

There exist optional half doors and I've seen one with full side curtains. Full doors would make it loud inside; I'm more interested in sound deadening in the toe board and the front face of the cargo pod.

I might/could mod it into a single seat flat bed or Deliverator.

First mod:

The outside mirrors are wall-eyed for situational awareness, but that makes reversing difficult. A popular option is a rear view dashcam, but I spent $7 on two blind spot mirrors that are pointed straight back and mounted low so I can spot the rear wheel from either side. Parking space lines look parallel.
