I became a fan of heated vests. Upgrade the battery on it, layer under other clothing, and you'll be toasty for sure. Got one for Christmas and the large size was way too big for me, so I gave it away and bought a used medium on Ebay. Another nice thing is when the sun finally comes out, you just hit the off button instead of having to strip layers off.

Arcimoto founder Mark Frohnmayer starts new business called 'Archetrike'

Arcimoto is best known for its quirky, three-wheeled vehicles called “FUVs.” At its peak, it was valued at more than $1.2 billion.

But the company stopped making new vehicles over three years ago, and its stock is now nearly valueless, according to MarketWatch. Eugene Weekly reported earlier this year that the company was facing eviction from its landlord.

The company continues to sell parts and vehicles from its existing inventory, according to customers KLCC spoke to at a rally in May.

Mark Frohnmayer started Arcimoto in 2007. He was ousted as CEO in 2022, but appears to have remained on the Board of Directors for several years.

He finally left the company last November, according to his LinkedIn. That same month, Oregon business records show he registered “Archetrike” as an LLC.

In December, Archetrike applied to trademark the name “BAT” for electrically powered motor vehicles, three-wheeled motor vehicles, and more.

I was on the reliability run in May that this reporter attended. I heard some details, but missed this part. I really wanted the MLM concept (human/electric hybrid) rather than an FUV but had to settle, but this sounds like that.

The MLM was targeted at a $3K price point (the FUV was $12.9K so double that)-- and my FUV might still have enough trade-in value to cover it.

Didn't know your fondness for Musk. Just had my Democrat friends over for dinner (they're all Democrats except for the 2 I never see due to distance). My very intelligent economist friend said Elon is a drug addicted idiot who always goes all in on roulette, and is always visited by lady luck. He's more inclined toward blank-slateism, and the miracle of institutions to perfect behavior.

I took the other side, proclaiming his genius and risk tolerant nature for success (acknowledging all the negative personality traits and behaviors that entails). While most would squander their Paypal fortunes on hookers and blow, he went all in on 2 ventures that have both been successful so far (everything succeeds until it doesn't).

Some suffer TDS (from both ends of the spectrum), but most aren't aware they could also suffer EDS (Elon Derangement Syndrome (there's an erectile dysfunction joke layered in there)). Folks that can't get over their emotional reaction to a personality type to evaluate facts dispassionately suffer these syndromes.

While my friend has more intellect than me (a metric he dismissed as fake and unimportant until I convinced him otherwise), he is a decade more youthful and lacks that significant experience. He's got a better disposition for times of peace, but is entirely unprepared for chaos; the natural state of the universe. People who contend with chaos are necessary, even if we need fewer of them, and even if they are imperfect, brutish, and arrogant.

I'm on the side of the high functioning autists. However.... Just as SpaceX IPOs and makes Elon Musk a trillionaire, a Chinese company nobody has heard of -- Landspace -- let an upper stage assplode in orbit. The Kessler Syndrome may have already triggered and it could put Starlink out of business. It may be weeks or months before we find out.

The 2 ends of the spectrum are "can do no right" and "can do no wrong". Both are deranged. That is not a horseshoe.

100% of people I've spoken to so far believe SpaceX is massively over-valued. None of them have taken a short position.

Explanations I've heard online are that occupying space is the same as ownership, and once you've established an orbit, it's yours. Get the best orbit, and and there's no competition.

That got me to thinking there are a finite number of Lagrange points, and occupying those might be extremely profitable.

Then there's the right to occupy a given radio frequency band.

The moon is wide open to anyone that wants to mine the resources. All of the best spots are available.

Considering 90% of orbital mass is inserted by SpaceX, and the strategic value of occupying strategic spaces, I disagree with 100% of those I've spoken to so far.

My dumb idea was parking the most powerful laser projector one can conceive at the Earth/Moon Lagrange point and then sell advertising space at every new moon. The screen is free, just need to bring your own projector. Advertising at a global scale.
