Which Arduino Clone?
I am using an Arduino Diecimila to put together a servo actuated throttle for a hybrid generator. I would prefer to use a lower cost clone for actual use to avoid damage to the Arduino that I am using now, which is set up for learning how to use it. The clone would be dedicated to this use only and would hopefully have a long service life.
This would be a high vibration application. I would like to solder connections. Once the clone is programmed, I probably would not need to make changes although tweaking is probably to be expected. Which clone would be a good choice for this application? If I were to program the chip in my Diecimila, and transfer the chip to a clone, will that work? Then I would not need the usb port on the clone, just a power port. |
I like my iduino,

Most of the 'duino branches will work. The only difficulties would be:
Voltage (Some are 5v some are 3.3v) Code space Interface to computer (some are serial, some are USB) I have seen some as cheap as $5. |
