Somebody just forwarded me this YouTube video about what Audi is doing with sound for electric cars.

It's an interesting two-minute video.

If you go to YouTube and read the description of the video, it seems like a thoughtful approach to the sound of electric cars.

I can't say I like the sound much.
Sounds like a waste of energy to have the car make enough noise so it can be heard from a distance.
Tyre noise is already considerable, though depending on road surface.
