Audi's take on the VW L1
Interesting spy shots of Audi's E-tron concept getting readied for the Frankfurt Motor Show. The evolution on the electric quads are getting more interesting in their design solutions. Looks very ultra-light, but not aero-clean as in enclosed designs. Rear quarters looks awkward but the open-wheeled design has sporty intentions.

Really, other than the fenders, the aero looks pretty clean.
Add some full spats and it should go good. Wonder what the chance is of this getting sold ? Anybody drive a 1L you know ? Shame. |
It's always intriguing a major automaker creates concepts to tickle the buying market of possible offerings. Audi has the engineering, manufacturing & marketing know-how to sell highly desired products. If there is a positive buzz, it would come to light. The concept is not too geeky or quirky and Audi's winning racing heritage & present selling momentum also helps.

Toyota have "stretched" the market for real further than Audi IMHO, the iQ is a daring design - not altogether successful in my eyes but brave.
As for trikes. Hmmm http://www.bondbug.com/gallery/BondB.../general_4.jpg |
Nice Kammback ;)
Maybe the aero drag of the wheels is less than what is to be gained bij not requiring a bigger body to enclose them ? The tyres look like Michelin's early Pilot Sport series with their triangular block design, and unlike eco-tyres. |
