Back in action with a twist
 

Now that i technically have my own car again, a 1994 Lincoln continental( it was FREE) from my grandparents.

It only has 78k and it almost perfect condition BUT not at all built for MPG , which as you guys can imagine from me posting on here that MPG is at the pinnacle of things important to me right now.

It had been getting ~65mpg in my civic but this rather large auto is pretty tough for me to crack.

I already aired the tires to 45psi, max side wall is 35, i am planning on going higher very soon, but not sure much else i can do at this point

I want to sell the car but can't afford to at the moment, so i need to make the most of the car and any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Ahh, those 90's land yachts... My grandparents have one up for grabs, also.

Well, the cheapest things to do would be raising the hood temperature with grille covers, trying your luck with radiator fan removal, any other deletes feasible (mud flaps, etc.) and, of course, the one free mod, adjusting the nut behind the wheel.

These large cars have lots of inertia, so normal pulse glides should have lengthier increments.

Neighborhood driving shouldn't exceed 10 mph with stop signs, and 15 mph can coast you for about 3 blocks.

Also, you should wear a granny wig to avoid getting honked at, because hypermiling does have it's social limits.

I really have noticed with the mass of this car that i will roll very far but then again the energy being used to propel this beast def= long rolls.

I was planning on doing a grille block asap and possibly undertray in the engine bay after a small tune up

that thing makes a big hole in the air. Making that hole as smooth as posible would be good. As much grill block as you can get away with and wheel skirts would help. A vac gauge can really help with large engines.
