Battery Tech Quest/Issues

FYI
Hello
Long time not posted my apologies
I am curious about a couple of battery technologies current and non

Lead acid chem
and variants are and have been around before my first birthday
are currently used in Tesla 12volt aux system ..There are Advance Glass Matt aka AGM 12v . I may have also read where graphene or similar material where to be tested The current 12volt battery like in my vehicle provide the security that car can be started in freezing weather with limited degradation. Drawbacks are the weight and limit lifecycle of 3 to 5 years in vehicles

Lithium chem
has not been mass mfg for current vehicle market for aux sys. Although could be used in 13v and some demonstration of 48v to 12v ICE vehicles yet to be made aka mild hybrid. Lithium battery can not be charged while at a standing temp 32F aka freezing if attempt made will likely damage battery. I have consider trying out in my vehicle but have this concern

Solid state Electrolyte Battery
Iron Battery
Flow redux Battery
I am curious about all the above however application and tech challenge for automotive application still not there from my understanding

These have been pretty thoroughly discussed already. Check out this thread:

What vehicle are looking for a battery for?

Tesla has acquired Maxwell Technologies for their intellectual property, if not actual product, in Dry Electrode Batteries.

This is a roll-to-roll manufacturing technique apparently different to Goodenough's solid state electrolyte. Of course since Tesla bought the company, only Tesla and maybe VW will get the batteries.
