Best Aerodynamic Shape for a car?

I've spent a lot of time looking there this forum. I cant find any definitive shapes. Mostly just things referring to air frames.

Obviously lift isn't all you want. A good mix i'm sure, to keep it light and keep it down. Anyone know of the 'perfect' shape?
A top and side view would be ideal. As not just the top and bottom need a design but both sides.

You can't find any definitive shapes because there are many configurations that can perform well.

If you are interested in learning aero you would be better off studying a good book on it.

A good aero book that is available is by Hucho. It's the one people reference by far the most. I have a copy, very interesting reading.
Here are some book illustrations, some from Hucho, some from other sources.

thousands?

Depending on your target Cd there could be thousands of forms you could use.
If you're going for extremely low drag with consideration for little else than drag reduction.then the field will narrow.
The 'Aerodynamic Streamlining Template' is based on the 'pumpkin seed' first used by Paul Jaray in 1922 to achieve Cd 0.13.
Walter Lay used it in 1933 to get Cd.12
MG EX 181 used it in 1953 to get Cd 0.12
GM Sunraycer used it in 1987 for Cd 0.089- 0.12
HONDA used it on Dream-2 for Cd 0.10

The Leading Edge
Aerodynamic Design of Ultra-streamlined Land Vehicles

from Bentley Publishers

it is specially designed for solar cars, but solar cars are the best aero shaped cars, although they are only suited for 1 person.

but you can find very very useful informations of streamlining the car.

Well both MIT's solar team entry from a few year back and the Aptera are based on Morelli's body of minimum drag. I'm not saying they're perfect, but some people might.

Edit: Also, the Li-Ion Wave II that won the X-prize in the side-by-side category has a very similar shape.
