I can't stop laughing at the click-bait image, and yet I will click because it is FortNine. Hoping he says something about kangaroo leather.

The cow stuff has protected my hyde on several occasions. The synthetic too, but the cow stuff has been more appropriate at track speeds and crashes. Never spent the coin for kangaroo though.

Having done the freeway shuffle, thick enough to not be abraded through is the correct answer, although except for the fire hazard from flying sparks, chain mail is optimum. Resists impailment, too, but could catch fire to the liner.
