A bit of a jam here...
 

Since someone started a thread on (Coroplast) harvest season, I thought I'd share my minor problem of over-abundance. So far this fall, I've made two batches of Cornelian cherry* (about 4 pints per batch), one of crabapple, two of Concord grape, and have a batch of quince going now - and I have enough quince for 3-4 more batches. I can't give the stuff to the friends & neighbors fast enough. I'd make fruit leather (or membrillo, from the quince), but I still have a good supply from last year. So what to do?


*Not actually a cherry, but a relative of the dogwood. Cornus mas is the species name.

Sell the old stuff or give it away, and replenish your stock?

I don't suppose there's a farmers market nearby?

If not, seems like ideal Christmas/other presents!

I'm in northern Nevada, so a bit of a drive for you :-)

I do give the neighbors & friends about as much as the market will bear already (one neighbor has started giving me her pear & strawberry jam in retaliation), and while there's a lot for one person, that's not really enough to justify setting up at a farmer's market - the nearest is maybe 10-15 miles from me.

Yes, but would it be worthwhile? :)
