Bizarre FE in motorsport
I was thinking last night about MotoGP andits limited 21litre tanks.
the bikes do an install lap from the pits, a warm up lap, a 29lap race(@france) and a cool down lap. so 32laps of a 4.185km circuit = 133.92km / 83.214miles and the 21litres = 5.547 US gallons which means from 800cc / 200+ bhp bikes on a track where they spend 70% of a lap at full tilt achieve..... 15.0016MPGus makes you think about those big car we are soo fond of |
better then a top fuel dragster
10 gallons for 1/4 mile or nitro methane or 40 gallons per mile converted to mpg 0.025 |
Nitro Methane and alcohol, IIRC, require more fuel to make the same power... if you're going to compare it to gas, you have to compare it by it's BTU content or a similar comparison device per gallon.
