I'm only going to visit Costco on the rare occasion they are selling a 100" TV for less than anyone else, and the deal is in store only.
Ended up getting a fridge from BestBuy last year because it happened to be the best buy at the time.
There's no future sales from me in store so long as they are going to offer free shipping on orders over $75, and $10 back on orders over $150. They gave me $10 for the opportunity to spend an hour driving low-margin goods to my front door.
Lines are still long at Costco though, so they'll survive this round of technological consumerism. Once autonomous deliveries hit, Costco doesn't stand a chance unless they lead that technology.
Once we get to half of people driving EVs, there will be little reason for people to visit. Prices are worse for most grocery items, equal for clothing, and only better for some store branded things, gas, maybe tires, and prescription glasses.
