Boat aided camping

What do you think about my wind deflector on my cars roof? :D
I had it on with my last weekend trip. I drove 330km there and 330km back with some head/side wind.
I must say it worked fine. Average consumption was 10,7 L/100km and 11,2 L/100km.
Previous trips without the boat have been something between 13-14 L/100km.

The boat also helped keeping the max. allowed 80km/h speed alot.

Next time I need to add a boat behind the camper also. :)

My calculation says 21-25% improvements. That's a lot!

It makes for a nice looking rig. What year was the trailer manufactured?

This is good information for others.

Can this be translated into mpg?

The trailer is a Sprite Alpine, made in England 1973. The car is Ford Taunus 20m, made in Germany 1965 and the boat is Finnish make, year unknown.

I converted the units to mpg's:

On the way there with boat: 21,98 mpg
On the way back with boat and head/side wind: 21 mpg

Previous trips without the boat: 16,8- 18,1 mpg

Max. speed used: 50mph
