Chevrolet Bolt EV 'Aero' Wheels (aftermarket)

I've always admired when companies made the effort to equip their EVs with aerodynamic, fuel saving wheels. Here are a few examples that come to mind, Mercedes B Class, VW e-Golf, Hyundai Soul EV, and Tesla Model 3. For those unaware, wheels with thin spokes and huge air voids are great for keeping brakes cool, but cause unnecessary air turbulence. And unless you're racing on a track, EVs don't need the extra brake cooling. In fact, some of us don't use our brakes enough to keep the rust off of them.

The Bolt EV's wheels have large voids which show the rusty brake rotors. They have an unusual 105 mm bolt circle so trying to use any of the above 'aero' wheels will not work. However, there is hope. A Canadian company called Fast Wheels, now has specially designed lightweight 'aero' wheels available for the Bolt EV in the original 17" or minus sized 16" versions available. It is called the EV01(+). Problem is, they are only available in Canada and with trucking suspended at the border right now, air freight charges are estimated at $350 Canadian. So as soon as ground freight resumes, I'm ordering a set.

Just me or does every size say "Out of Stock"?

Mike: FYI, Canada/US cross-border commercial ground transport wasn't suspended. Only non-essential (discretionary/recreational) travel.

So you should be able to get some wheels.

Thank you Darin. I wonder why they quoted me $350 shipping? I'll call and find out.

For comparison, here were the aero wheels Chevy had for the 2015 Volt.
They look much better than the 'bling, bling' cheap looking chrome wheels, but were also functional :

Very interesting, thank you Cd. I hadn't known about those. So were they an option or a dealer parts department accessory?

I'm not sure myself.

Apparently, they were taken from the Opel Ampera* and offered as an option by G.M. :

You can even find used ones on Ebay now.

GM 'aero' wheels

This would probably be their 'benchmark' for aero wheels:

Didn't know where else to publish this fuel log so I dropped it here since it is for a Chevy Bolt. I tried some home made aero wheel covers out but got rid of them where it appeared they were messing with the TPMS System.
