Brakes

Just had the brakes on Hamster checked for wear @ 128,000 miles: 55% front, 60% rear. That means I may be able to break the 250,000 mile mark on the original brakes that came new with the car in 2007.

I knew that not braking had its advantages!

Now if I can make the clutch last that long too...

My clutch was still good at 249k, and then I sold the car.

The clutch on my SL is finally giving up at 230,000mi. My Focus had 198,000 on the original clutch when I sold it. 200k+ isn't impossible.

Holy smokes. My car is at 139900 and has original brake pads and clutch, we'll see how much longer they last with all this Bay Area stop and go traffic...

My 'Yota's clutch is at 200K, and has taught one kid how to drive stick.

The other kid is older, but reluctant to learn stick. But he's going to, regardless of his preference. You don't grow up in my house without learning how to make fire, cook spaghetti or drive stick. That's the rules.

And then I can start shopping for a new clutch. Assuming it needs it.
