Brammo Empulse - 100 Mile Range, 100MPH coming in 2011
This is breaking news; and it doesn't even show up on Brammo's own site, yet!
Brammo announces the Empulse, a 100+ mph naked electric streetfighter with 100-mile range [w/video] — Autoblog Green http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblo...-empulse-2.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblo...-empulse-7.jpg http://www.blogcdn.com/green.autoblo...-empulse-4.jpg |
looks really wicked...wonder how much it will cost http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-scared001.gif

The Empulse 6.0 (60 mile range) will start at $10K, and the Empulse 8.0 (80 mile range) and the Empulse 10.0 (100 mile range) be up to $14K, though there may be federal and/or state incentives/rebates/tax reductions that could reduce the 10.0 down to as low as $7K.

New models
I was happy to see this!
More models and more manufacturers will hopefully attract the attention of the larger manufacturers. I would think the manufacturing leverage alone of one of these would lower the prices. |
It needs some aeromods. Otherwise, AWESOME!

Sweet! Very cool looking bike.

It will be neat when these can stand on their own as far as purchase price without the rebates.

Apparently, they will offer a range of footpeg set ups, and yes a small flyscreen would be great, too. |
Hmm, can you imagine if Allert Jacobs got his hands on this one and did to it what he did to that Honda ?? I bet it would go 20-30 MPH faster and increase its range significantly. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...excited001.gif http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...excited002.gif

Nice looking bike. I've never been a big fan of the naked look myself. But honestly $10,000-$14,000 isn't far off from a new gas powered bike. My ZX7R ran $9000 new.
|
it reminds me of a ducati monster 600. it looks cool, but 10-14k? come on, do you know how many years it would take to save enough gas money on a 3-5000 dollar motorcycle to even be close to being economical. i paid $4,000 for my bike brand new, and i can tell you i wont spend 6-10,000 dollars in fuel in 15-20 years. still, it looks cool though.
