Broke the 30mpg barrier
 

I’m fairly new to hypermiling and ecomodding but I finally got my Subaru Outback over 30mpg with my best tank yet at 31.07mpg! It was done with about half rural/small town driving and half highway now to see if I can squeeze 35mpg out of her.

What techniques did you use?

How about adding yourself to the ecomodder user map?

Just a grill block over inflated tires and coasting when ever possible and other hypermiling techniques. I’m thinking about a kill switch for eoc which should help since I drive rural country often where I would feel comfortable using it.

DWL (driving with load ). This is a big one that teaches concervation of momentum. A vacuum gage is a big fule saver.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention I have a scanguage that was the biggest help for fuel mileage yet and I do drive with a target mpg in mind similar to driving with a load.

Getting 30+ in a Subaru is damned hard. I never managed it. My son did once, but he took it on a long trip and drove at modest speeds.

31.07 American? Damn good effort.
