amen svo...

whatever is important to you and whoever you think best represents you...vote. there are alot of places on this planet that dont have this opportunity.

while most people think today is only about voting for prez there are very important local votes that take place too. on a state level and local level theres more at stake than most know about.

in massachusetts were voting on the state sales tax...a very tough choice to consider. im still undecided. while it would be nice to drop the 5 percent tax there are also alot of people and programs that depend on that revenue including teachers and police and fire departments and plenty im unaware of. very tough choices beyond mcain and obama.

Vote Today!

Hello,

If you are voting in the USA -- please go today and vote your conscience. Can we set a record for turnout? I hope so.

* Aren't sure where to go? Google has a great little tool to tell you where you need to go- just plug in your home address (or wherever you are registered to vote).

* Not registered to vote? Some states allow you to register on election day. Go to the aforementioned link and Google will also tell you if you can register.

* If you have problems, like with faulty voting machines, and aren't taken seriously at your polling station, contact the Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights Election Protection Hotline, at 866 OUR VOTE. The ACLU is another good place to turn to, at 877 523 2792.

* For the majority of us, the biggest hurdle is just getting out there in the first place. Wake up! It is time to vote! Make your voice heard!

* On your way to vote, call your local friends, family, and neighbors. Take them with you. If you can, spend your day helping (reminding, driving, giving directions) to people.

All power to you!

i voted absentee last week

quick email to circuit clerk saying i wouldn't be able to make it to the polls on voting day. they mail me a ballot. i fill it out in the comfort of home, sitting on the couch. put it in the supplied envelope the next day, drop it off at the post office. easy

Signs point to high turnout for the US elections today - congratulations! That's something to be proud of.

I wish we'd had a similar story to report in the Canadian federal election held last month. But no, yet another record LOW turnout (for a variety of reasons - but still disheartening).
