A/C Recirc
Not all of us have the fortitude to drive around all day withthe windows down, wspecially if we hit hwys. Therefore I have a question regarding a/c recirculation.
In another post someone mentioned how they P&G their a/c because of the drag on the motor, and I concur in my Vibe there is a 10mpg difference on the scangauge with or without a/c. So I was thinking, since I do not use the 2 passenger vents in my car, would I gain any benefit from piping air from one of those vents directly in the recirc tube to get colder air in there and perhaps extending my non a/c use? Things that you go hmmmm .... |
-Bump- Anyone?

Uh..ohhh, sorry I was asleep.
Umm...I think it would work only the recirc part of the a/c is closed of when using the fresh air side. If you could manage to plumb it so it would work in the fresh air position it would most certainly work blowing more cold air on you. |
Block'em
I think simply blocking the unused vents would be better and easier.

I agree with Mark.

If your goal is to extend your non A/C use, I would think that what's important is the average air temp in your car, in which case blocking/rerouting vents in recirc will change nothing.
They are currently running a set of articles at autospeed.com on new affordable electronic controllers they designed and now sell. It's interesting how using one of their module, one could use a thermistor to auto cycle their A/C. |
