Interesting to see even Honda being effected by the CAFE requirements. IMO its a good thing. Up with the mpgs! :)

Got to wonder where the writers of that article keep their heads. The Ridgeline is a "compact pickup"? It sure isn't compact, and I'd argue that it's not even a pickup by any reasonable definition, just an oversized sedan with the trunk lid left off.

And does anyone else remember when Honda didn't even build anything that got less than 30 mpg?

I'm sure Honda's not the only company re-evaluating the "bigger, faster!" approach these days.

Oh how I'd love to see the next model of cars actually be SMALLER than the last... Everything is getting so big.

...the American mantra: "...BIGGER, BETTER, FASTER!"

...wait, that's NASA, not Detroit, I was thinking of!

If I'm not mistaken, Mazda also went slightly smaller & lighter with the current (2011 to us) Mazda 2.
