Calling all sleuths!

Surfin' You Tube, found this li'l bit of AWESOME  but didn't find data! :(

It should do the Vetter Run!!!

Specification guesses:

Worksman industrial bicycle or tricycle 26" wheels and tires
No front brakes
Has all lights, horn, blinkers, windshield and wiper, seat belts, and fenders to pass NC inspection
NC only requires a rear license plate?
Chain final drive
What little single-cylinder e-start donated the drivetrain? A quad because of the reverse gear?
Polished aluminum bodywork

I like it.
Wheels look stouter than typical 26" bicycle wheels. Bicycle tires wouldn't put up with 70mph.
Quad engine is probably a good guess. I see a radiator in the front...would need probably 250cc+ to get to 70mph.

My sleuthing got nowhere. It's a mystery!

I would guess the engine to be sourced from a Honda CRF250L, with some trick to enable the starter motor to provide reversing (IIRC this had been quite popular in Harley-Davidson tricycle conversions).

Sounds like engine-driven reverse...?

And right hand operated sequential gear change.

Build completed in '12 or '13.

My sleuthing shows this car to be Gen II; same guy had an earlier ('09 or older) much more basic car that I think donated the wheels and drivetrain to this one.

Gen I: foot shifter, rear drum brakes, and no doubt some really scary experiences with "bump steer"!!!

That first video (gen II car) reminds me of some miniature antique trial car replicas I found on youtube a few years back. Not having any luck re-finding them, if I do I'll post up.

Since it has a chain drive, I'd still be more inclined to believe it to have an electric reverse, but I wouldn't hold my breath for that. Most, if not all, of the motorcycle-based tricycles with engine-driven reverse that I have ever seen were also converted from chain to shaft-drive, so I would expect the same to happen with a car like that.

Well, I followed the video to its source-Ed Johnson doesn't appear to be a very prolific Uploader though.

I left him a link to this Thread in the Youtube comments-who knows, maybe he'll feel like discussing his beautiful little roadster, here or there. I know i'd be showing it off if i'd made such a glorious little beast...

Yes, that's all I found too but I didn't think to leave a link or comment so thanks.
