Can I disconnect the scangauge2

Can I disconnect the scangauge2 when I'm not in the car? I don't want my scan gauge to get stolen, so I want to put it up when not in the car. But I fear that it will not calculate the day right.

You can disconnect it. It will save the tank data, but I'm not sure how it will affect the current day's data (might reset). You could check with the company - they're pretty good at replying.

You could look for a more descrete location, mount it in a way that it looks like it would be hard to remove, or make it look like part of the dash. I don't think I would like having to move it so often long term.

You can safely disconnect the Scangauge w/o losing memory. Just make sure you let it go into sleep mode BEFORE disconnecting.
