Can you make $100,000 removing litter from parking lots?
 

Why is this here and not in the lounge, where most of my threads belong? To answer the question in the title.

I was looking at side jobs and ran across this. Allegedly this, unlike everything I saw was absolutely possible. All right, $100,000 a year, that is $273.97 a day. Can you make almost $300 a day with a side job?

Even weirder, Brian Winch, the guy that came up with it, said that you can quickly do this and just go for a walk.

Brian does not give out very much information for free, he wants you to buy his $80 book, which would have a far better ROI than any of my textbooks if there was just any possibility, because I finally ran across some numbers: "$30-50 an hour."

The projected average hourly wage for 2020 is supposed to be $26.43. A side job that not only pays at least a couple times as much as the minimum wage, but 13.5% - 89% more than the average wage?

I just do not believe it, but wait! There's more!

If you average $40 hourly with this side job and make $100,000 annually you need to work 2,500 hours or fifty hours a week.

At your side job.

If you can make all of this work, I just do not see this being your second job.

The only information this page has is that allegedly his company earns $650,000 annually.

He has "a team of full-time and part-time workers to clean litter from approximately 150 parking lots."

How big is the team?

Obviously 6.5 guys earning $100,000 each.

That works out to 23 parking lots each. How long does that take to clean, on average?

Even at $50 hourly, that is 2,000 hours, or 40 a week, and an hour and forty-four minutes each.

I do not know why you could not approach property managers and contract out litter removal, but $100,000 part-time seems impossible.

If you need some extra money, this looks like a good opportunity. What would it take to get started? A book, business cards, and garbage bags? You could be in business for $100?

Two caveats: the vacuum truck for parking lots is $100k new. Getting a contract with lot owners is hard.

650k / 80 = 8125 books a year so falls within the 1% not statistically valid bucket.

Other than a random bet or a sudden extremely rich relative death, there aren't shortcuts that I have found.

You need to become an influencer on youtube. There is a girl that plays video games on a blog 40 hrs a week.....

He talks about going around with a broom and one of those dustpans on a handle and\or a very pointy stick, Cody's lab showed that precious metals get deposited on highways. Would this apply to parking lots? He and a friend swept the side of the road in the middle of the night and people commented that he would make a habit of it.

I said he could get a job driving a street sweeper.

So if you are already driving a street sweeper, maybe you can get into precious metals!

The largest parking lot in the world is debatably at the West Edmonton Mall in Alberta. It has 20,000 spots, but I cannot find any information for actual area, or for any other parking lot, but I would not have any idea how to guess how long it would take to walk through a parking lot. How far away can you see litter at night?

Many people on YouTube, Twitch, and probably elsewhere play games, although supposedly the girls are less likely actual gamers, guys just like watching them.

I once saw a video of random popular channels on YouTube and one was a well-endowed woman showing different apps on her phone, but with her low neckline, she was showing plenty.

The real estate guys I keep watching for some reason talk about starting your own YouTube channel. I love telling stories, but few people seem to appreciate them. I am sure that someone could describe the train wreck of my life in a way that people find funny, but I could not imagine being able to do that myself.

Well then verify the precious metals yourself. I take the skeptical view that if it were profitable there would be lots of people doing it. I'm thinking the STO <1.

Kinda skeptical but I guess the realistic takeaway message is: start a business to harvest other people's labor and you can make a ton. Even if it's just picking up trash.

I met a guy in Australia who cleans garbage trucks and gets paid over six figures for it.

A local family friend who worked within the paper industry many years and had many friends in the industry discovered that our area payed huge amounts of shipping to bring in cardboard boxes.

He discovered that he could by local cardboard ship it across a single street, cut it and sell back to the papermill at a higher price but with nearly zero shipping making a fat profit.

He then could offer his boxes to other local businesses that required them and again come in cheaper with shipping considered.

He became very wealthy sold his share in the business and retired making brown cardboard boxes

True there is profit there but it’s locked out to individuals by payola and red tape

I think the only possibility is that if you can earn $20 an hour, you pay someone else $11, and just make sure they do a half-decent job. You would need for someone else to work 11,111 hours per year, or 5.5 subordinates working 40 hours a week.

That gives you a team of 6.5.

Don't know what you might make if you spent 1/2 the time you do procrastinating on the internet doing something that pays, but it would be more than nothing. I'm guilty of the same procrastination. I could be speaking fluent Spanish and play the guitar by now.

If I ever hit hard times and needed income, I'd start a lawn maintenance company. Actually I'd probably do freelance IT work, but lawn maintenance seems steady and I'm good at it, and I have the equipment already.

Arguably I would be better off earning minimum wage at a lame second job, but as you can see, I have been trying to find something that paid better.
