canbus codes?
Dear all,
I'm looking at sending data via a canbus bluetooth connector to an android phone running a dashboard app. I'm making a standard motor controller. How/Where do I find what serial codes to send for what data ? From my reading, it seems every manufacturer just "makes up" whatever codes they want . I will have temperature, pressure, revs, brake on/off, current, volts etc Regards, Andrew. |
They discuss Canbus on EVTV Motor Verks - Electric Car Conversion Videos.
They appear to have addressed this in this episode: http://media3.ev-tv.me/news101014-iPhone.mp4 Quote:

Sorry, but CANBus is the software/harware "architecture" that OBD-II uses.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAN_bus I believe what you're actually asking about are the manufacturer's Parameter ID (PID) codes which identify what packets of data are being transmitted and received over the CANBus protocol: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OBD-II_PIDs |
