Car battery Drain advisory

I got a report from axaday that he left his car parked for about a week and the battery was dead.

I don't know that it was guino related, but you might want to unplug your mpguino if you will not be driving the car for several days, at least till we get a chance to sort it out.

Thanks,
Dave.

Hmm, I should go try mine, it's been parked for about 1 month now...

yeah mine was draining after about a week.....I left it hooked to a slow charge battery charger when I wasn't gonna use it for a couple days

So when my parts finally come in, wire in a power switch. Gotcha.

If you switch it off it will lose all memory just remember that fact too.

Does anyone have hard numbers on what the 'guino draws for amperage both with the LCD on and off?

could I find this out with my volt-meter? If so maybe I can find out tomorrow

If your volt meter has an amp setting, you could put it inline with the power lead somehow. I'd just do it but I keep loosing track of my meter :)

If I'm leaving my car sitting long enough that the Guino might drain my battery, losing the memory isn't that bad. :D

How hard would it be to get setup values saved to flash memory?
