cargo trailer 5 or 6 wide

Hi

i looking to buy cargo trailer , i have acura mdx height is 65'' i look to buy a 5x10 with V nose and slant nose inside height 5.6 outside 86'' slant 80'' only 15 '' between truck and the slant of trailer... my question is my suv is 6 wide if i take 5 wide it will be easier to pull the box will be smaller than truck, 6’6″ total width with wheel , but if i take 6x10 with same height and V & slant nose ... it come 7’6″ total width with wheel do you think it will be harder to pull if 6 wide the box will be same size , but wheel exceed ...

thank you for advise

If the trailer front edges are square, then the five-footer. If the edge radius is greater than 4% of the gross width (3inches), it will supply a surface for the wake of the tow vehicle to reattach to.

IMHO, of course.

You'll want fenders that look like this:

the trailer have v nose 20 inch + trailer lenght , 6 feet wide the v will be less deep than a 5 feet wide ...

The angle at the center is not as important as the radius on the edges. A U-Haul style trailer is optimal, and with added vortex trap fins would work just as well.

The only thing I have that shows vortex traps, in the lower right:

What do you plan for the back? What do you think of the Airstream Basecamp?

Height is the killer of MPG. Before all other factors.

After freebeard, then suspension. Torsion flex worth the expense. Widens track out to wheel face versus (with leaf) the spring axle attach points. This is stability.

“Easy to tow” us the right combination of features.

You’ll also need an infinitely height-adjustable hitch ball. On an ACME screw. (Masterlock used to sell one; wrench to adjust height). Use a level on roof to find barest nose-down. Just off bubble.

Load should be heaviest items just ahead of axle on floor. Not against front wall.

If I were to go out and buy a trailer, the 6x6x12 UHaul is the ideal after suspension change. BUT, notice that spring attach point is congruent with outer wall. If leaf, then this is acceptable. (Second problem with leaf is short wheel travel; trailer hop).

???

I can see advantage in independent trailing arms, but how does it widen the [effective] track? Is is a roll center effect?

Yes.
