Interesting kill switch idea

I keep trying to research everything that I need to replace my mother's brakes. I watched a video either by South Main Auto or Brian's Mobile.

Maybe Eric the Car Guy.

Anyway, he was doing a brake job and mentioned some new brake clips that had coatings to make them quieter and more efficient, in theory increasing fuel economy, but could you measure it?

Shouty Kilmer was paid to make a video about them, but they specifically asked them to not give information, because they sell under various brand names. As far as I can tell, these are pretty standard now, except I put plain stainless steel on my Accord.

Carlsonqualitybrakeparts.com advertises QuietGlide® clips. These: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BZYSYS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Do any of you have any experience with quiet brake clips?

Anyway, YouTube keeps showing me more interesting videos while I research the brake job. I was watching this:

Put a fake kill switch under the steering column and hook up the fake kill switch to honk the horn and turn interior light on unless the real kill switch is on. Bonus points for making a transistor circuit that keeps the horn and lights on even when the switch is off. Also the real kill switch would be a 3 way that can disable it
Do you think a would-be thief would abandon a car if they set off an alarm?

I'm not big on theft deterrence as it merely results in someone else being victimized. I've caught half the people that have broken into my vehicles.

Don't over think this brake job and quit procrastinating! Just buy the cheapest pads at your local auto parts store, and skip the higher priced ones that carry a warranty for only $5 more. They are the same as the cheaper pads, just cost more.
