Catalytic convert talk - FCC, MCC, UCC???
So, I got some info from a user on MirageForum that works at a dealer. He got me some images of the dealer presentation on the 2017 Mirage updates which include some really cool stuff. Amongst them is this update to the catalytic converter. However, I have no idea what FCC, MCC or UCC means?

Manifold catalytic converter (MCC) and an under-body catalytic converter (UCC).

Thanks Xist. That must make FCC flange catalytic converter then.

But anyway, the catalytic converter attached directly to the manifold makes sense, as it takes less time to heat up to its standard operating temperature. |
Agreed. The older manifold design is pretty horrific from a flow perspective too. Much akin to 50 year old log style exhaust manifolds. We have known better for ages now.

I honestly do not have any idea. This was the first result when I looked for MCC and UCC, but all FCC turns up is something about fluid catalytic converters (part of the conversion from crude oil to gasoline) and garbage: https://www.researchgate.net/publica...d_Start_Period

"Front", perhaps? Or "Forward".
I find lots of references to WCC (warm-up catalytic converter, aka the one on the manifold) and UCC (under-body) but that's it. But you refer to the oxygen sensors as "Front" or "Rear"... |
