CF hood Aero?
Just wondering what y'all think about my 6lb hood...is it more aero or less aero than stock. Its vented behind radiator. I have a pic in my profile album.

Id take a guess to say its less aerodynamic without a complimenting belly pan. If you had a belly pan then the air might make some slight under hood pressure that needs to escape. Then I could see that hood being of some benefit. The smoothest hood for my style Mustang is the 01 V6 style hood. It had a single non-functional cowl in the center of the hood.

The smoother, the better. More bumps and ridges mean more drag. The weight reduction will make a tiny tiny improvement but it will probably be cancelled out by the drag increase at higher speeds.
Do a belly pan and see how that treats you  |
Should I try a partial grill block also with belly pan? Since I have a vented hood...hood info..when it rains going down the interstate water doesnt hit the center of windshield.

Make good tunnel from front bumber to hood and I would say its better aero after that. Air should have straight and clean route out of engine bay. Place of that exit is at proper place in your hood. Grill block would be also a smart choice because looks like that hole is not as big as your bumber hole.

aerodynamic drag from the front of the car is such a small percentage of the total that I wouldn't worry about it.

Well im not sure what to do next to my car...everything has to be removeable bc I don't want to decrease its value....Ryland I have a 81 commuta van in the works

This should give you some ideas. :)
For what it's worth my belly pans are zip tied on for easy installation and removal. |
center outlet
If you blow a radiator hose at speed will you be blinded as glycol hits the windshield and is only smeared by the wipers?
