The CGI FX-base Blackird
 

The Blackbird, an EV CGI FX stand-in rig used for car commercials. The chassis rig can be easily modified to change its width (10" adjustment), wheelbase (48" adjustment), suspension height and 4 electric motors to adjust FWD, RWD or 4WD wheel traction and have a tame or a powerful dynamic response. It even has a 360 degree on-board cameras to capture the surroundings to use for CGI reflections on the post & final production photo-realistic videos as well as 3D laser scanning information. The main reasons for the Blackbird are because of unavailable models, commercial 'filming' are done on public roads & open settings and the gorgeous marketing videos must be ready on the manufacturer's public unveiling dates. The manufacturers submit the size and chassis specifications as well as the 3D design and engineering files to be 'constructed' later for the marketing videos. The could look super-realistically sharper, could even show transparencies, outside/inside camera fly-throughs and dynamic engineering exploded views. So when you watch wonderfully 'filmed' and gorgeous car commercials/movie car effects you maybe be 'seeing' the Blackbird.
