How did I do? (How's my MPG?)

Most of you are aware of the Problems with Skuttlebutt .

I've tried hyper milling.
I've driven it 299.1 Miles
Approx 75 Miles driven during rain, otherwise it was all sunny.
Refill gas needed: 9.89 Gallons.
Pulled over by police approx 11 times.
1 ticket for driving an ugly car.
No physical mods to the vehicle were performed.

End Result: approx 30.2 MPG.

So how did I do?
(trip meter method)

Not bad, your Taurus is beating my Camry by about 1MPG...I really want that extra MPG, the trip to Florida next week should help a lot though...

WaxyChicken -

Hmmmm, at 21 combined MPG :

(30.2 MPG)/(21 New EPA MPG) = 1.438 => 43.8% OVER EPA!!!!!!!

I think that's righteous with an automatic. Since the rain and cops lowered your MPG, there's gotta be an even better tank hiding in there.

You forgot to reset the trip meter at last fillup j/k

Congrats, that's a nice number for this car.

Waxy: you should set up a fuel log for your Taurus so others who don't see this thread will see how you're doing.

PS - nice work!!

Nice job. From your garage you said you got 17.5 MPG. You just saved 7.2 gallons for the distance traveled. So you just saved over $21 for that fill and emitted 144 pounds less CO2. Now you can single-handedly reduce our dependence on oil if you fix the leaks with the money you saved.

Actually, i just sold BigBen. Skuttle butt is going as soon as it's feasable. So there's no point in updating my trip log until my next long term vehicle, IMHO.

I'll be updating my garage next week sometime to ditch BigBen and add pics of the mysterious Skuttlebutt.

Probably for the usual hyper milers "how much have you been drinking tonite sir" or.. "do you realize you have a... erm... thingy jutting out of the rear of your car??" sort of thing.
