Sad, sad stuff indeed. I hope no one gets suckered into it...

I thought it sounded pretty enticing when I first saw the ads for Jeep and Chrysler. I would never buy a new vehicle anyway.

Even ignoring the $2 fee per a fill-up, you're only saving 60-70 cents a gallon in most places right now. It really doesn't work out to that much money in the end. Get a rebate/cash back and throw the money you have in your account into some useful investment instead of putting it in their pocket. If this wasn't costing you money, they wouldn't do it.

To maximize savings, you have to maximize consumption. This is why I avoid all-you-can eat buffets.

Haha, my friend just bought a Dodge Journey and so I asked him if he got the lifetime drive train warranty and he was like "no they don't do that on a lease." But he was boasting on how he got the $2.99 deal on gas INSTEAD of ~$1500 cash back. Well I've always told him that leasing isn't the way to go but whatever, now I can tell him about the $2.00 transaction fee. It will be funny to see the look on his face.

Its sad but he is kind of hardheaded and we kinda had this leasing vs. buying debate already so this will be kinda fun. Even though I know that he is getting ripped out of money. :-(
