New Tinkerer in Central VA

Hi guys,

I love this site! And would like to meet up with some folks in the area sometime.

I'm stuck driving a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 v8 for now. I'm looking hard at different options to trade/sell for something more economical, but I'm going to do the best I can with what I have in the mean time. (Planning to install a simple plywood Tonneau cover soon)

I enjoy playing music (fiddle currently) and going to shows (but my gas guzzler keeps me parked more often than not). I have a B.A. in Philosophy and have been doing carpentry work. I enjoy building a technical understanding of anything I get involved with. I am fascinated with green building/design, permaculture, engines and generators of all kinds.

I expect to sell my truck and get into a Jetta Diesel or light pickup soon.

I wish I could get my hands on some steam engines to play with XD
