Civic VX...

Someone please buy it, don't let it get neutered with an engine swap.

Lol... he needs the money to pay off the credit card... or else he'd keep it.

In what world do you sell the car that saves you money so you have to money to pay the card that takes your money? How is that logical?

I'd imagine his "other car" is something that doesn't hardly get 20MPG... just assuming based on what I've seen in life, though. Maybe I'm wrong, and he's got one of those 100MPG carbs on his lifted 6x6 Grumman Diesel rig...

I was going to email him and ask the exact same question.

I wish I had 2k.

Christ 09-13-2009 12:03 AM

Me too. Unfortunately, for the 2k, I could probably get a motorcycle and keep driving my van when I need more than one seat.

MadisonMPG 09-13-2009 12:07 AM

I want a motorcycle, but I live at home and the parents won't let me. (1 more year)

I wonder how one would go about block heating a 2 stroke... (thinking out loud)

Christ 09-13-2009 12:09 AM

Heating pad wrapped around the cylinder sleeve's heat sinks.

Unless it's a water cooled 2stroke, in which case, you'd just install it in the water's flow path.

I could have bought a bike when I lived w/ my Father... I never understood how a parent could really affect that choice, or think they could anyway... I kinda look at it like they just don't trust you (generalized) to operate responsibly when they say you can't have one.

MadisonMPG 09-13-2009 12:14 AM

My parents reason is a stupid one. My cousin (like 3rd or 4th) gave his girlfriend a ride and they were both drunk and she didn't have a helmet. Ended up killing her and he was fine. My aunt now calls them Murdercycles. My reply is always, "The motorcycle has never killed anyone..."

Christ 09-13-2009 12:17 AM

So what does that story have to do with you or your apparent lack of coordination or intelligence necessary to ride safely and responsibly?

(That was NOT an insult, rather the question I'd be asking when that story came up in my presence.)

SVOboy 09-13-2009 12:34 AM

Don't forget, most non-drug-related motorcycle fatalities are not the fault of the rider as much as they are the fault of someone running them over/off the road, so being smart and careful won't solve every issue.

That fact is what has kept me off a motorcycle these last few years :/

Frank Lee 09-13-2009 12:49 AM

It's true, lotsa stuff happens on the road and it ain't all yer fault or even something you can avoid every time.

It's also true that the same circumstance that causes major trauma on a bike can be a non-event in a cage.

This from someone who had to spend 3 months in a recliner after a cycle crash.
