Confused over "Current MPG"
(Yes, I'm aware; I'm dense.)
I've been pondering this for a while, and want to make sure I'm on the right track. are the "Current" numbers in the MPGuino for "Current Trip?" If not, what are they? I can't seem to decide. The mockery may commence after the question is answered.:D |
"Current" on the mpguino means total since the last time it timed out (default timeout is 7 minutes). Shut the car off and let the mpguino time out, and the "current" numbers start over at zero.

So it's "sort of" trip, but not a 'true' trip thing. Makes sense. Thank you!

I don't know if I would categorize it as "untrue". If I'm in the store more than 7 minutes it resets is all. It's a "true" trip with a "true" auto-reset feature :)

I think of "trip" for going to + coming from a destination, as that way the climbs/descents balance each other. But I'm not setting the timeout to 8 hours... :p I don't know that I can come up with anything better either. Just to be clear, I'm not faulting your choice of wording or code design - it make perfect sense (now), especially in a pre-1.0 release.  |
just reset the tank each time if you want that... I've been using tank mpg for my daily commute.
