Could anyone run a carfax for me?

I'm interested in a car but have a suspicion that its been in an accident. The current owner (who isn't the original owner) claims to know nothing about an accident. Carfax is now charging $40 for a single report. Seems a bit steep to me.

If you have access to carfax reports, please PM me.

There are a lot of people that pay a monthly fee, and provide the carfax service for dirt cheap. If you're not looking at a lot of cars I highly recommend using them. I don't know this person, and have no affiliation but here is one such seller

Although carfax, autocheck and the others don't catch much when it comes to accidents, you might consider this as a litmus check

It may not be as good as a carfax, but carfax really doesn't catch everything either.

And best of all its free.

Can't beat free.

Vehicle history check. Check your car VIN. For FREE!

Free check of branded titles. Many cars will actually show pictures of the car from the insurance claim.

As with any of these, a null-response doesn't mean it was never in an accident.

Thanks guys. A gracious member actually did an autocheck and carfax for me!
