COVFEFE might give us a break on car insurance

My driving is always way down because I work from home. I should get a discount for that.

Frank Lee 04-07-2020 12:16 PM

Yes, me too. I've had batteries fail because the vehicle(s) sat around too long without being used and without me being attentive and periodically charging them or using a battery maintainer. :/ About the time I'd decide to remove coverage from something I'd want to use it, use it, get pulled over, and really pay.

I have a Chevy 3500 long bed truck I've only driven 3,000 miles in two years. It basically only moves when it has either a lawn trailer or boat or kayak trailer behind it. At 11 mpg I only fire it up when I need to tow something or need to carry sheets of plywood or drywall in it

I should look into my insurance policy and see if there's any breaks I could get since it sees so few miles a year, I'm probably over-paying

Yes, the F150 only gets used to haul stuff when it's the better choice than the Metro. The agency asks how many miles you put on, for whatever that's worth, as the premiums still seem high enough for virtually no use.

My insurance company bases rates on miles driven. I just went in and dropped the van’s yearly mileage 3,000 miles and saved $29.98

All the ones I deal with won’t go below 15,000 miles

I guess it's a good idea to shop around more frequently than you might think. Loyalty doesn't mean much to those bastids. Oh, after several years they SAY you get a loyalty discount but then you shop around and find cheaper rates for new customers...

PEMCO does 1,000 mile increments to 20,000 miles per year.

As Frank says it pays to shop around. I quote everything every 2 years.

I always thought that he just slipped trying to type COFFEE, but no, he knew about the virus years ago somehow... *x-files music plays*
