If this sounds like a Rant or a another Negative Nancy narrative and or commentary then this is not for everyone.

FYI
In the past (not recent)I have really Like and Enjoy reading posting in this forum. No matter how different and or impractical a suggest DIY modification was presented still like reading most of what came around. Say if some suggested (for example) DIY PVC car exhaust system ….I would like to see how that may turn out and clearly understanding at the same time the inherent risk of doing so. ..

However as a trend I have witness lately few DIY mods come along
and when one does come along the Negative Nancy , harsh critics, and others that come down on some one .....

So here is to the Unique, un-phased, and others who dare...to go beyond continue on with your mods, ideas and thoughts. So here is to Nickola Tesla that changed the USA(my world) after Edison tossed him aside ….love my AC power even with brown outs

just saying

I've noticed I'm less enthusiastic about performing mods as time goes on, but I always appreciate seeing what people are working on.

When people are proposing an idea, it's only natural to find the drawbacks of the idea and lay them out before beginning the project.

Criticism isn't something to bring down a person, it's friendly advice to assist in arriving at optimal results. Of course, it's perfectly reasonable to be critical of criticism, which is simply the process of trying to see things from as many angles as possible.

I drive 95% of my miles in an electric.
The only mod I care about is getting a 40kwh battery.

Probably the two biggest reasons for this are relatively cheap gas for the past 4 years as well as newer vehicles being more efficient than previous models.

The biggest reason for me is that the Prius is already very efficient, work pays for fuel in the work vehicle, and my next vehicle will be an EV.

Not too concerned with efficiency in an EV as long as I have range to make my destination. Doesn't really matter to me if the cost per mile is 2.5 cents or 3.

I have to agree, the urge to mod is fading now that I'm actually paying on a car, drive nearly 100% of my miles in EV mode and charge for free at work. My main mod is now is aimed at the driver, I'm still trying to tweak my driving habits to match the new Volt's capabilities and see how many miles of EV range I can coax out of it

But I still love a good mod story, and when somebody's considering a mod I've done in the past I'll always take the time to find the link to my old mod so they can shave some time off of theirs! I still remember how fun it was modding my Festiva and the two Insights

I need to fix my cars before I can modify them.
