Custom Ecomodder License Plate Frame- 11.99

Picked this up at Autozone for 11.99 plus tax, but I had a gift card left over from last summer... so I ended up using that.
Here is the stock photo from bellautomotive.com http://www.bellautomotive.com/userdo...ds/7_46213.jpg I've been after one for a long time but they seem to be a little hard to find. I got the only one they had on the shelf. Mine is silver, which I actually like better than the white because I have silver wheels and a couple chrome accents on my car... I think white would have looked too cheap. I haven't had a chance to put it on the car yet, because I don't have any plate bolts that will fit in the holes on it, but here is a scan of the frame with my "personalized message". It fits perfect: http://ecomodder.com/forum/attachmen...1237009180.jpg |

Cool find. I think I have seen a similar version at Target. I would do that, except my frame is "already taken". Ha ha, inplace of "save fuel", maybe you could use magnets to have a "## MPG" CarloSW2 |
Would be cool to have an official ecomodder plate frame to alert other drivers

Looks great, I like it. I've never seen a make-your-own license frame before.

Maybe one of the moderators should look in to CafePress. They have a license plate frame option that includes pictures as well. Looks like the starting price for the frame is $9.99. See example below.

The problem with the frames from cafeexpress is that they corrode after just one winter in the North East. I had one that said "My hybrid kicks gas", and I had to toss it after one winter. Just looked crappy.
|
That's unfortunate. Even though cafe press is nice, I haven't decided to use it because EcoModder won't be able to guarantee the quality.
|
Seems fair. I can't say I've tried one of the frames. Rather poor choice in materials I guess.
|
Make a few calls to local machine shops, I bet somebody could crank one out in solid aluminum on a CNC mill. Pricey but sturdy.
