D.I.Y. Engine Bay cleaning using WD-40 (pics)

Hey everyone, I wanted to share with you an easy cost effective way of cleaning rustproofing off your engine bay.
I used WD-40 and a paintbrush and 4 microfiber towels.
Works amazing on 20 year old buildup of dirt and rustproofing. No joke. =)
Car had been sitting for 10+ years.. I basically spent 4 afternoons/evenings total on it.

Here is a recent cleaning on my 1991 civic si.

STEP BY STEP

1. Go to the automotive store, buy 2 cans of WD-40 , 4 microfiber towels, paintbrush.
2. Open Hood.
3. remove battery, air filter box and arm, fuse box cover, wiper motor, map sensors assembly, coolant overflow tank, move away side wires and tubes on shock towers.
4. Start attacking the dirtiest parts with WD-40.
5. Spray and brush/agitate the grime/dirt
6. Wipe off dirt with towel.
7. Once all the bay is clean, you can buff and polish the paint around the bay and dress the rubber hoses with rubber and vynil dressing.

Keep doing this until all dirt is removed. It takes a while, but well worth it.
WD-40 wont remove the paint.

Time involved: Roughly 20 hours.

Of Note: As you will notice, some parts were replaced/restored as well.

I'm seeing a lot of rusty cadmium plated parts in the before picture that are not rusty in the after pictures. The after pictures look too good to be true. It was filthy before but to get to the after condition you would have to replace a lot of parts. The left engine mount was covered in rust, was it replaced?

Can you name the replaced parts?

regards
Mech

Stickers on the battery and the front of the timing belt cover are not the same. Rusty radiator hose clamps. Rusty bolts on the exhaust manifold heat shield. Wd40 wont clean that rust off and make them look new.

Name the parts you replaced, instead of trying to belittle my reading skills. It's not the same car.

If what you say is true then your claim of cleaning with WD40 should be changed to an engine compartment restoration and I doubt it.

Judging by the cars you own, I dont take anything you say with a grain of salt.

I really do not care what you think, or if you believe in God or not.

I posted a thread to show how to remove 20+ year buildup of rustproofing with WD40.

ALL MY COLLECTIONS ARE FAKE TOO RIGHT ?

It's pretty simple old mech...
20hrs, replace all parts = easy cost effective

A few nuts and bolts, a battery, and some other things is actually nothing.
The car is a 1991, not 2011

You say you bought the car 10-2-09
Guessing the date stamp on the before pics of 1-13-09 is accurate then
So these are just example pics? Not what you actually did?
