Danger Will Robinson...

In this past couple of years, I have done plenty of dangerous things.

A few years ago, I went skydiving. I regularly work with items of crushing weight, burning temperatures, and flammable liquids.

I have built an electric car (with up to 144V DC), done household wiring, and been an amatuer race car driver.

Most recently, I built a propane-electric car, and even THAT didn't manage to blow me up.

I even breath fire on occasion! (No joke, great for parties.)

Why am I saying all this?

All these things can be terribly dangerous, but we plan on them, keep fire extinguishers handy, and wear our safety glasses.

What is FAR MORE DANGEROUS THAN ALL THESE THINGS?

Me with a kitchen knife.

I feel like a moron. 4 Stitches.

PS: It took me about 10 minutes to type this.
Enjoy the Schadenfreude!

Hopefully it'll heal quickly.

Recently I was moving a light switch for a family member, and since I was 1000 miles away from my toolbox, didn't have a proper wire stripper. Decided to use a knife. Stabbed myself right in the palm with it! Bled all over the kitchen floor like a gusher. Initially went to the hospital as I obviously needed stitches, but talked my way out of it as my insurance sucks. It's healing up nicely, I hope yours is as well ben!

PS: This should totally be the "How I got this cool scar" thread

I hope it heals, so you can get back to your projects soon:)

That domain name is free. Which is weird in today's times...

For medical DIY - if it's nothing too serious - cyanoacrylate-type instant glue will seal minor knife cuts almost instantly.
Make sure the wound is clean and it'll heal nicely without scars too.
Use self-adhesive bandage to relieve tension on the wound and the glue.

I used to do some scale modelling, so cuts were more or less unavoidable, and I always repaired them with what I had at hand : CA glue ;)

It has been or still is being used in the medical world to close clean scalpel cuts.

Ow ow ow!

Lately, it's just been minor burns for me, about one a week. :( (Wood stove in the shack - learning to wear gloves when tending it.)

Touch wood!

(NO... actually touching all that wood to feed the stove has resulted in many splinters as well. Sheesh. Beats a hospital visit though. Touch wood. Ow.)
