Exhaust Manifold/Cat for VX

I have a '94 VX and the Exhaust manifold is cracked and I was going to replace that along with the cat. I was wondering if the Dorman OE 674-439 would fit on my VX? That Dorman part is for 96-00 civics but I think I've read that the 96-00 Manifold/Cat will still fit on the VX. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks

I googled "Dorman OE 674-439" which turned up this on line auto parts store that carries it.
When I look up '94 Honda Civic VX at the same store, it shows Dorman OE 674-545
So, probably not.

Seeing as you're in the Bay Area, you might want to try giving HAP a call.
www.haprecycling.com - honda and acura car parts

They're a Honda/Acura salvage yard in Rancho Cordova (Sacramento), not too bad of a drive. I made it once when I was living in Foster City.

MMK - you have the cool manifold that the catalytic convertor connects directly to, in front of the engine.

1 - Any Civic CX
2 - Any Civic VX
3 - 4th gen Civic STD
4 - 2nd gen CR-X HF.

The only thing is that you must use the same catalytic convertor as the manifold you have - the bolt patterns are different, except maybe the CX/VX ones.

In theory, depending on your emissions laws, you could get any D-series header and cat combo, and you'd just have to slightly modify your exhaust to fit it in there... the B-pipe would have to be cut and welded to length.

Most of the images for headers on RockAuto.com show the basic header from the 4th gen Si Models... they're all nearly identical, from 88-00, so they're basically interchangeable. The one that you need is the one that has the cat sitting directly in front of the engine, which is CX/VX and HF/STD models. Some DX models apparently also had it. Year is not a concern, as long as the engine is 1.5 liters or has a engine code beginning with "D" (D16Y7, D16Y8, D15B2, D15B8, etc.)

If your cat converter is still good and just the upper manifold is cracked...I do have my old VX manifold sitting around collecting dust. You can buy it off me and I can ship it to you.
