Wow is about all I can say.

DragonPlate Carbon Fiber Composite Components - Carbon Fiber Sheet, carbon fiber sheets, Nomex, Square Tubes & Splices, Carbon Fiber Panel, Carbon Fiber Tube & Rod

I wish I knew how they made some of this stuff because I have an entire roll of very heavy carbon fiber I stole off ebay back in 2005.

Just think if you made a car frame from this stuff.

I have seen video of the manufacturing process, they use high pressure to squeeze multiple sheets together after being covered with a resin.
I know people make small parts and the such without pressure, laying it out and treating it very much like fiberglass.

The high pressure and vacuum techniques are used to make the part with as little resin as possible, which makes the part as light as possible. Without using pressure or vacuum bagging and just using standard fiberglass lay-up techniques, the parts will be heavier. This may be OK for your application compared to other construction techniques available to you.

I've used some carbon fiber with standard lay-up, but only as a stiffener reinforcement in an existing fiberglass, Kevlar, or wood part. I've never made a part strictly out of just carbon fiber and resin.

Bagging takes a lot of time and equipment.
If I had more room I might be able to make more parts out of fiberglass or carbonfiber.
